Position Assistant Professor

Solène is an expert in the financialization of commodity markets and the author of research that analyzes how the growing presence of financial investors affects commodity futures markets, as well as the feedback effect on physical markets. Her first paper was published in Energy Economics, her second won the Best Paper Award at CEMA in Chicago, and her Job Market Paper provides compelling evidence that the demand curve for commodities flattens over time, a transformation attributed to financialization.

She has a Ph.D. in Finance from the University of St. Gallen (HSG) and was a Visiting Scholar at the Cambridge Judge Business School during her Ph.D. Previously, she was a Quantitative Analyst focused on macroeconomics and climate risk at leading financial institutions such as Crédit Agricole and UBS.
