In this video (“questioning the growth dogma”), Cyrine Ben-Hafaïedh, Professor of Entrepreneurship & Strategy, speaks about her work on growth and profitability.
Professor Ben-Hafaïedh and her co-author (Professor Anais Hamelin from EM Strasbourg) used a database of over 650,000 small and medium enterprises (SME) from different sectors in Europe, which represent nearly 40% of SMEs in the EU to study their growth (in terms of sales, assets, and employees) and their profitability over the period from 2011 – 2019. This enabled the researchers to assess the medium and long-term effects of their initial strategy orientation.
