Cristiana Sappa researches intellectual property and has authored publications on copyright, trademarks, trade secrets and database protection, in English, French and Italian. She has participated as a speaker in many international conferences in different continents and has been interviewed by different media internationally. She has a double Ph.D. in private law from Italy and France and is qualified to the Paris bar. She also has consulting experience with different private and public bodies, including three UN Agencies. She formerly coordinated European Thematic Networks (LAPSI and LAPSI 2.0) and co-coordinated an interdisciplinary group on digital commons within a network lead by the CNRS (the French national center for scientific research). She is currently Head of Department at IÉSEG and is affiliated to the French branch of the ALAI (International Literary and Artistic Association). She is the current president of the AFD&M (the French association for law & management gathering law professors of Grandes Ecoles). She is a member of the sub-group of experts on the European Data Space on Cultural Heritage for the European Commission.
