Position Full Professor

Laurence Viale is Full Professor of Purchasing and Supply Management at IÉSEG School of Management. She holds the HDR (habilitation à diriger des recherches) from the University of Clermont-Ferrand and a Ph.D in innovation in strategic purchasing from the University of Grenoble. Her research focuses on the transformation of purchasing, through sustainability and circular economy imperatives and digitalization, and on the role of purchasing professionals in innovation processes, supply chain resilience and reshoring decisions.

Drawing on more than twenty years of experience in strategic purchasing and procurement, she connects academic research with managerial practice. She is a member of IPSERA (International Purchasing and Supply Education and Research Association) and serves on the executive committee of the French National Purchasing Council (CNA).

She is co-author of two books (published by EMS, ISTE group) « Digital Strategies for Supply Chains », « Sustainable Purchasing and Supply Management», and is editor a book named “Pedagogical Case Studies in Purchasing and Supply Management” by SPRINGER. She has published in a number of academic journals, including the International Journal of Physical Distribution and Logistics Management, Logistique et Management, Supply Chain Management: An International Journal, and the Journal of Business Research.
