Two specialists in logistics and the supply chain, <a href=\"https:\/\/insights.ieseg.fr\/en\/resource-center\/expert\/verena-ehrler\/\">Verena EHRLER<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/insights.ieseg.fr\/en\/resource-center\/expert\/ronald-mcgarvey\/\">Ronald MCGARVEY<\/a>, professors at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ieseg.fr\/en\/\">I\u00c9SEG<\/a>, provide some answers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3>Is there a supply crisis?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>While the disruption of the major circuits that feed the economy is not new in itself, the last few months have been marked by powerful disruptions, explains Verena Ehrler: \u00abthe pandemic and the war in Ukraine have shown the need to improve the sustainability, efficiency and resilience of supply chains, acting as an<br>accelerator.\u00bb <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Especially as these disruptions are not about to end, says Ronald McGarvey: \u00abThe risks inherent in globalised supply chains have long been known. But these disruptions have been confined to a specific geographical region or sector. Covid has had an impact on all regions and sectors,\u00bb explains the researcher, who warns that \u00abclimate change will have similar effects, albeit distributed in time and space.
