Non-native speakers &amp; conflict in the workplace"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Professor <a href=\"https:\/\/insights.ieseg.fr\/en\/resource-center\/expert\/jimena-ramirez-marin\/\">Jimena Ramirez<\/a> speaks about some of the research she has co-authored on the perceptions of employees working in their second language (non-native speakers) and particularly the way they experience and react to situations of conflict in the workplace.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Previous studies have explored the perceptions of native speakers, and the biases they have towards people with strong accents. But the researchers took a different approach as they decided to explore conflict from the point of view of workers using English as their second language. Dolan School of Business, Fairfield University, Fairfield) and Kevin Tasa (Schulich School of Business, York University): \u201cDo you hear my accent? How non-native English speakers experience conflictual conversations in the workplace\u201d(2022).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Jimena Ramirez <\/strong>is interested in understanding the influence of culture on negotiation (expectations, strategies and outcomes). She works with international research teams in four continents and is particularly interested in honor cultures. Her aim is to help managers from different cultures reach better agreements.
