Elodie Gentina<\/a>, professor in Marketing at I\u00c9SEG, has recently contributed to the book Generations Z in Europe: Inputs, Insights and Implications<\/em>,<\/a> published this autumn by Emerald.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Made up of chapters written by Generation Z experts, which cover nine different European countries and their contexts in relation to the Generation Z, the publication provides analyses founded on perspectives from social science, media theory and literary studies. It also examines potential challenges that may arise for organizations working with this generation, as well as tools to face these challenges.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Generation Z in France<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

In her chapter \u201cGeneration Z in France\u201d, Elodie Gentina looks at different factors, such as history, culture, economic situations, socialization, technology, etc., that shape youth (particularly the Generation Z) and their behavior in France. She gives specific examples of how familial, societal and political structures are shifting, and how this affects Z\u2019s attitudes and mentalities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Professor Gentina also includes some recommendations and information for employers, such as promoting face-to-face, as opposed to digital, relationships. She explains that this helps members of the Generation Z feel as if they belong to a team.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Similarly, she highlights a number of findings from her 2018 \u2018Gen Z management\u2019 study conducted among 2,300 French young people (Gentina and Del\u00e9cluse 2018). When young people were asked what would be important in their current or future careers, they named \u2018working as a team\u2019 (28.8%), \u2018developing skills\u2019 (28.4%) and \u2018challenging varied roles\u2019 (16.2%) as the most important factors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
