In 2011, she defended her doctoral thesis on the\u00a0digitalisation of freight documentation (e-freight)\u00a0and started working in research and academia.\u00a0In her research, Verena focuses on the improvement of sustainability and efficiency of SCM and the impact of digitalisation on the transport system. Jointly with industry partners she has conceived and coordinated national and international projects\u00a0on freight transport optimisation, ranging from innovative solutions for last-mile deliveries to emission calculation of international freight transport chains.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Verena\u00a0was\u00a0convenor of ISO 14083\u00a0&#8220;Greenhouse gases\u00a0&#8211; Quantification and reporting of greenhouse gas emissions arising from transport chain operations&#8221;.\u00a0She was coordinating author for the \u201cHow-to-Guide\u201d for zero emission freight in urban areas of the Transport Decarbonisation Alliance (TDA) and of the Global Logistics Emission Council GLEC Framework 3.0.\u00a0In 2018,\u00a0she was awarded the Transport Research Arena\u00a0(TRA) Senior Researcher Cross-Modality Award.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"featured_media":5430,"template":"","tags":[1420,1414,1418,823,1404,1416],"acf":[],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v19.5.1 -
